Weekend Links

Since I'm not posting on weekends (and struggling with the posting otherwise) I've decided to give you guys a post of what I've found looking around the internet during my 'free time', meaning while I'm sitting at work between clients, don't tell my boss. I hope you guys enjoy!
  • Found this blog while looking through Bloglovin, and these look delicious!
  • Also this bread sounds like a much better breakfast than my current cereal.
  • Officially adding these countries to my travel list, several were already there, but now the rest are too!
  • As some of you way know, I'm now registered on this site and just got my cookbook in the mail! I can't wait to start!
  • Just because I'm mostly vegetarian doesn't mean I can't appreciate delicious looking chicken like this.
  • If you're looking to travel to the Galapagos, Ecuador, or Peru this could be a great place to look.
  • And you have to admit that a chair like this would be awesome!
  • I have to end on this though, I think we all sometimes need the reminder...

It's amazing how much is really out there if you just take the time to look. What have you guys found recently?

Love,
Sara :)

Favorites: Reasons To Be Fit

For any person looking for reasons to workout, there is a tumblr account called Reasons To Be Fit that can give you over 900 reasons to be fit. Some of these reasons are serious, while others are more fun. I wanted to share with you some of my favorites :) So enjoy! :D

#0021 - to live longer
#0029 - to be able to defend yourself
#0040 - 'cause I like that "HELL YEAH!" feeling after finishing a tough workout
#0052 - because what doesn't kill you makes you stronger
#0080 - to be comfortable enough to run in only a sports bra and shorts
#0100 - to outrun the zombies
#0117 - to prove to yourself that you can do it
#0233 - 'cause weight lifting makes me feel like the Incredible Hulk; OOHRAH!
#0390 - to know that if it came down to it, you could win the Hunger Games
#0453 - to begin my training as a ninja
#0547 - because I want to deserve my shower
#0674 - because running is cheaper than therapy
#0897 - to release stress and re-find myself
#0928 - because kicking ass is more gratifying than kissing it
#0944 - to be ready for a whole lot of running when the doctor chooses me as his next companion

I didn't get all the pictures but I think that this is enough to get my point. If you need a reason to get fit, or are running low on motivation lately, check this out, it has some great points!
Also! You should all check out my new fitness blog called Backup Fitness when you get the chance :) thanks!!

Sara :)

Graduation!!!

So, for those of you who don't know, I am (more like WAS!) a college senior. Well, no longer!! Today was graduation!! I'm not exactly positive if it has fully hit me yet that I'm graduated and heading off into the real world in a few months. I've gotta get my feet on the ground first, this being literal and figurative. Literal because I still have a broken foot and am going to be having surgery, hopefully, at some point this week (update on that to be coming later), and figurative because I don't have enough to pay for an apartment, don't have a job and don't really have much of a plan at this point, so I'm going to figure that out before I make my move (most likely to Minnesota, which will also be part of a later update).
This leads to the question that I get asked all the time now: What are your plans for after graduation? Well, honestly, all I got right now is that I need to have surgery and get my body physically healed before starting off on the next great adventure of my life. I will say that I am hoping to be able to blog a lot more now since I won't have classes or homework or tests to worry about (at least for now...), so I'm hoping that my writing will be getting better, I mean I hope that even by now it's getting a bit better, but I know that it will take time and practice before I really figure out my plans for the future as well as my style. There are many things that I hope to do in the future including: traveling, moving out of my parents' house, getting a job (or a few), learning how to cook better, learning more about wine, and drinking more coffee just to name a few. Sounds fun right? That's what I think at least, and I look forward to each and every one of them in my quest to learn more about the world around me and enjoy what life has to offer and make the most of what I can! Life is full of choices and chances, so I plan on doing what I can and taking risks when necessary and dealing with whatever consequences and hurdles the world throws in my path, because one of the most important things I learned in colleges is that I can be confident in who I am because I can make a difference and I matter to the world, whether the world knows it or not yet, I matter and so does each and every person!
Ok, done with my little soapbox here, but honestly I am still trying to figure out my life and I know that there are going to be trials and tough times but they will be worked through with a little help from my friends and family :)
I leave you all with a lovely picture of the sunrise this morning (yes, I got up and watched it at 5:30am) and one of my favorite Dr. Seuss quotes: "You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go..." (Oh, the Places You'll Go) :P thought it was appropriate. I hope you enjoy and don't mind my ranting too much :P

Love you all!
Happy Sunday, it's the start of a brand new week for us all, so let's make the most of it!

Learning to Code

Alright, in hopes of helping my blog to become a bit better looking and more interesting, I will be learning how to code!! Plus, I kinda just wanna learn in general :P If anyone else has the same interest you can visit this website: codeacademy.com. It's free and seems to be quite helpful! :)
So, while I learn this, my blogging should continue but at times it might not be as exciting, but hopefully so :P I will do my best!
Plus! Today is my last day of undergraduate classes!! :D Crazy right?! I'm just hoping that finals go as well as I'm hoping they will.

Love to all!
Sara :)

Where Have I Been? 2

I haven't updated you guys on my whereabouts on the interwebs for a while and I wanted to share a blog that I found. I do search the webs every so often, looking at different blogs that I've either found before or looking for new ones, usually as a study break (this time a break from studying Psychology or writing papers). This time I'd like to share with you a blog called A Cup of Jo. Written by a magazine writer out of NYC who blogs about everything from sex tips to dinner etiquette, traveling to fashion, this is my favorite type of blog, one that touches on just about everything because that's kinda of how I enjoy looking at things. I'm not so good at that whole looking at one thing at a time and keeping in a consistent routine, I tend to be a bit more sporadic in my thinking (in case you haven't figured that out from my blog yet :P ).
Here are some of my favorite posts from A Cup of Jo

So yea, you guys should all check it out! It's a pretty neat blog and well written.
Enjoy!
Love,
Sara :)

Where I've Been Looking....The Sweetest Occasion

Alright, so as a blogger, I also look at other blogs for some inspiration as well as for ideas of things for me to do! Recently I stumbled upon a blog called The Sweetest Occasion. I have already spent so much time looking at her different DIYs, wedding pictures, drink mixes and fashion plans. I can't help it, I would go so far as to call it slightly addicting :P
Being pretty new to blogging, or so, I find that looking at other blogs that have become successful really helps me to develop and learn about what I can do to improve my own blog. The Sweetest Occasion has already taught me two things: be yourself and consistency! Being yourself is important and that's what people seem to like (whoda thunk?! haha) and readers like consistency, they like to know that there will be another blog posting ever so many days or every day or every week day or the such.
DIYs are some of my favorite things to look at. While I'm a bit slow on the actual doing part of it, I'm working at it! I hope to get some things going this summer and maybe on into the year if I get the time (which may or may not happen...). Some of my favorite DIYs that I have found so far on The Sweetest Occasion include:
  • Potted Herb Favors - I would probably end up using these as more of actual pots for myself, but giving is always nice too!
  • Painterly Party Wares - I'm thinking maybe for my next party? Blue or purple would look amazing as well as the pink!
  • Bon Voyage Garland - while this is from another blogger, it is still I found it on The Sweetest Occasion, and since I and friends of mine travel a lot, I feel like this would be appropriate :)
  • Glitter Dot Swizzle Sticks - I do like glitter as much as the next girl haha, and I just had my first swizzle (a grapefruit swizzle from Water Buffalo, DELICIOUS!), so these appealed to me right away
So I think you should all go check out this blog cause it's pretty awesome! A kudos bar for you my dear, your blogging makes me smile because it always has such bright ideas and is pretty to see as well as to read.

Thanks all!
Love,
Sara :)

Planning Ahead

Hello all,

My name is Sara, most blogging people know me as Bean though. I have three other blogs that can be found here. The reason for this blog is that since I am a senior in college and will be graduating in May (I know, a long ways off) and when I graduate my email address wil be removed. Now I'm not sure how it will work for blogger when my email gets removed. it might remove my other blogs, it might still let me log in with that account (though I doubt it...). So I am creating this as my back-up blog that I may end up using more than the other ones to simply put things together nicer and only have one blog instead of three or something. I won't lie that it would/will be a busy blog if that happens but I guess we will find out!

For now, I'm just going to use this every once in a while to make random remarks on how things are going I suppose. I'm working at the YMCA right now, wich is good for my exercise science major. And I am loving it here!

Ok all you lovely people, that's all I got for today/this week/month/who knows how long! Hah! I shall be back again with an update....at some point?
Love,
Sara :)
